Thanks a bunch, Slipperperson!
Which Brady Bunch kid are you most like?
I think I’m beginning to get disgusted with myself.
I think I’m beginning to get disgusted with myself.
Last week The Prof’s car started making some truly formidible noises, so he ran it in to the local service shop. There was a problem with the belts, and because of the way his car is put together it would have been a $1,000 plus job to fix everything correctly. He elected to have the…
It wasn’t exactly a gold-star productive weekend, but I have at least caught up on my sleep. If all goes well, this coming week will be the first five-day work week I’ll be putting in since I started back. It will be interesting to see how dead I am at the end of it. After…
So weâre into the next phase of transition. I think, as a working title, I will call this phase the âIâm flat broke with no more unemployment benefits and totally dependent upon the good will of othersâ stage of my life. I expect this to be neither comfortable nor pretty. There are no large animal…
I guess it’s like Gremlins. Don’t get them wet. The new sofa and loveseat arrived … not only on time, but ten minutes early. Warrior Princess has taken to it. Clueless Wonder wanders hopelessly around it, looking for his old, familiar territory. Sorry babe, gotta go with progress. ACfH is locked in the bathroom so…
There’s a good article in today’s online edition of the New York Times. Entitled “Internet Gives Teenage Bullies Weapons to Wound From Afar the article gives an overview of online cruelty. A line from the article: The new weapons in the teenage arsenal of social cruelty include stealing each others’ screen names and sending inflammatory…
1) I was given a nice bottle of California Merlot for Christmas. Merlot is not my favorite, though I will drink it happily when it is a gift. I have discovered that a generous wedge of lime squeezed into a glass of Merlot miraculously turns it into something that rather transcends description. Of course, it…
Thanks for the warning label!
Edward Gorey…i LOVE that. A high school english teacher had posters up all over her room. She was the sponsor for our literary magazine and we used to taunt her by writing "prostate" on her blackboard. For some reason she thought it was a horrible and gross word.
i miss her.
i apologize for being self-absorbed…i sincerely hope you feel better.

LMAO @ THE THIRD MAN!
I’m sorry… But… when we’re watching Billy Elliott with school at the cinema, they showed a preview on The Third Man and it was hilarious… ‘Cause there was all these music and every 5 seconds the commerical said "The Third Man". *Giggles*

Glad the dentist wasn’t bad. Hope the lump turns out similarly. Meanwhile, the garlic steak might have contributed to the festivities. I was just reading an issue of Redbook yesterday that recommends garlic for, er, encouraging that sort of thing. They also said that women should wear pumpkin and lavendar to, um, further encourage that sort of thing. Apparently it increases male blood flow to a certain location by 44%. :O
I’m trying to get caught up on all your entries! I hope you get through to the Dr soon as that lump doesn’t sound good. Take care and hope you feel better soon.
So not only is garlic good for the immune system and keeping vampires away, but now we learn it’s an aphrodesiac too?! Thanks Moonridden! (It’s also great at fighting colds). Garlic for everyone!
