Crap!
Plans to reap what I sowed failed to come to fruition. Turns out the harvest had some weevils in it. Looks like you’ll all just have to wait in suspense a bit longer.
As for me, I’m sitting on pins and needles.

My doctor decided that the ultrasound scheduled for next week was too long to wait, and bumped me into a slot today somehow. I had hopes of hearing the results from that, but none appear to be forthcoming today. I suppose no news is good news. I have the flex sigmoidoscopy first thing tomorrow morning….
You know that feeling you get the day after you injure yourself? Imagine that you’re hammering nails, and manage to wing your thumb instead of the nailhead. You don’t do any real damage, but it hurts like hell afterwards. Then the day after, your thumb doesn’t hurt any more, but it still remembers that it…
There was a road rage incident in the Big City not too many days ago. An article about the incident can be found at $200,000 bail set in hit-and-run. Another story is at Road-rage suspect hit with DUI These newspapers only make the last seven days of news items available, so the articles may not…
Nothing says “Spring” more than the sounds of a world freshly waking up. Birds are starting to sing songs to which the birdie lyrics go something like: “This is my territory. I’ve posted the No Trespassing signs. Go find your own plot of land.” Neighbors are starting up lawnmowers in a still-too-early attempt to outdo…
Got home slightly before the Professor this afternoon. I was greeted by: Two Piles of Kitten from Hell Vomit My favorite ear cuff on the carpet in the hallway The ribbons from my college diploma taken off their display in the bedroom and left under the dining room desk One of the Professor’s socks under…
I finally got something approximating a good night’s sleep last night. Granted, that means that I got six hours rather than three or four, but it is an improvement! I’m just doing a countdown to the weekend now, when I can stay in bed and doze until I’m sated. Kitten was in a strange mind-set…
I bought a deLint book, by the way. I haven’t read it yet (finished the Huff series and then indulging in Nevada Barr’s latest paperbook), but I aim to next. I’ll let you know which one it was when I’m done. For a lit master, I’m surprisingly good at forgetting titles….
A cliffhanger,,,
I like the image, too. 🙂 For me it evokes the idea that present concerns can seem so much larger than they are. When we’re using it, a flashlight can seem more clear and luminous than the moon, but it really isn’t–nothing like comparing the two to bring that home.
Thanks for posting it.
i like the song!
What’s that? You have a rash?
You rash and impulsive??
Doesnt seem like you, so I wait in suspense.
🙂

What an awesome poem. The title reminds me of when I was a kid, camping out with a friend in the back yard and shining our flashlights up at the moon.
I’m going to go bask in those memories now.

Whaaaaaaaaa
I am going to go insane until I know what you are reaping.
sitting on pins and needles is right!
