There’s a daily newslist for people who have the same cancer that I do. It’s surprisingly active, considering how few of us there are. The discussions this week centered mostly around people getting rejected for life and disability insurance. Based on comments from participants plus the forum’s moderator (a reputable foundation for this disease) having…
Rufus Wainwright sings to me of “Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk” and then moves on to “Across the Universe”. Jai guru deva om… Dar Williams sings my anthem “Spring Street”. She attempts to empower me with “I won’t be Your Yoko Ono” and then reminds me of humility in “Calling the Moon.” Christine Lavin gets me…
OK, folks, they’re done. Sorry for the delay on these, but please know that having these to work on helped me keep my sanity during two exceptionally long flights to and from the Left Coast. Remember the rules: From
The weekend was, all in all, uneventful. That made it restful to experience, but pretty difficult to write about. I’m still oscillating between being unable to sleep and then sleeping for ten or eleven hours like some winter-bound tulip bulb, but at least it means that I can look forward to a good night’s sleep…
The Socialist likes some white noise in the background when he sleeps. I don’t mind it myself, though he needs it while I just like it. Anyhow, we have an air purifier that provides just the right volume of background noise while keeping the allergens down. I really don’t notice it when it’s on. But…
Well, the ex showed up at my doorstep yesterday promptly at 8:00, and dropped off the tax info from last year that I needed. Or at least, what I thought I’d need. I then bundled myself up (it was cold in these parts yesterday) and did some errands. My company has a LOT of nice…
Be brave. be proud. Flaunt your efforts. What’s the worst that could happen, a snarky comment?
Oh Bravo! Oh, well done!
If you don’t get an A, the teacher is a dolt!
Write On!
That’s very good – and I really mean that. It explains the mysterious behaviour I’ve observed for years 🙂
I’m sure Katie has a good home, and will lord it over her new servants.
Oh, bravo! What a clever ending, with a twist I didn’t see coming!
We saw Shrek 2 Sunday night, as well, and laughed loudly and frequently. My favorite moment was the hairball scene. The way the artists drew that sudden lack of focus and the expression on the cat’s face was priceless.
I wondered if you’d have trouble giving up the kitten. I also wonder how Kimi will cope, after six weeks, was it? of cat sitting. I wonder if she’ll end up going out and getting another Abbyssinian.
I’m so glad the kitten has found a home! Even cooler you will be able to keep track of her.
As for the other entry, I love it! Very well done.
I forgot!! Thank you for dedicating it to Jinco. Ashley and I were looking at pictures of him last night. He is sorely missed.
Re your FOE: Well Done!! 🙂
Re finding kitten a good home: Well Done!! 🙂
Three stars for Salamander *** 😉
Now THAT story really rocks. Good work! 🙂
I thought of Dekyi this morning, and wondered how you were all getting along.
I really hope she becomes an important part of her new family.
I love your short story, and the dedication to Jinco touched me.
