La SalamandreSee if that link doesn’t work better for you.
I finally got something approximating a good night’s sleep last night. Granted, that means that I got six hours rather than three or four, but it is an improvement! I’m just doing a countdown to the weekend now, when I can stay in bed and doze until I’m sated. Kitten was in a strange mind-set…
I had a good physical therapy session today. During my neck strengthening exercises I found the “sweet spot’, an exact position that, if I hold my neck in it, gets rid of all of the pain and most of the pins and needles. This is a major step – now that we’ve found the position…
It seems like I end up reinventing myself in prime years. I think, at the start of life, everyone does that. Age thirteen is the start of that gray zone where you begin in earnest to move from childhood towards adulthood. You hit nineteen and find yourself embarking on the first truly official adult years….
The hummingbirds have made their return, although their nest is definitely history. I’ve spied them in the garden among the Liatris and Physostegia. The bees and butterflies all seem to prefer the Liatris, but I’ve only seen the hummingbirds at the Physostegia so far. Since the plants are a scant two to three feet from…
February, when the days of winter seem endless and no amount of wistful recollecting can bring back any air of summer. – – – Shirley Jackson “Raising Demons” We did get yet more snow last night, but it only amounted to about two very fluffy inches. It was still a pain to have to clean…
"On the day Agnes died…" Is this Nadia? The name threw me for a loop when I thought another character was being introduced.
I like it though!
Alli
I was going to make the same comment as Alli….
I also enjoyed it! I don’t know that I could have done that. I tend to ramble on and never get to the point. Great job!!!
Megan
I liked it too! It drew me right in.
Damnit, still can’t access your friends only entries :(.
Ah, those ARE a lot of constraints!
AND having to name the characters in meaningful ways…. could set me off into the looney bin.
I ALREADY have a hard time naming in my stories….
But it’s true, writing to parameters DOES make you stretch. Paramiters? Paramaters?
Specific requirements! There!
Hope you get a good grade.
Very nice. Well done. I like the name Nadia. My bf’s father died of Leukemia. Some rare form not discovered until it was much too late to do anything about.
Best of luck with your writing class!
I too liked it, however it does not "feel" you are writing this.
I love your usual style…long, rambling and stops along the way about all the little interesting facts you normally *ramble* about.I love it when you stop us readers in mid sentence to smell the roses.
I was left feeling *I want more*. Does that make sense? Sort of got the bread without the filling.
I echo what Elf said.
