The new place.
A separate bathroom to lock each cat into when they get out of hand. A walk-in closet. Large storage area. A private entrance. MY OWN WASHER AND DRYER! Is this not beautiful to behold?

On my short trek between home and work I pass through a rather diverse landscape. I skirt around a huge industrial block, pass by a decrepit retail area, through a new and over-priced community of McMansions, past a healthier retail district, then on through a development of vintage post-WWII modified Cape Cods, into agricultural open…
The message board I help administer has suddenly taken an interest in Dear Diary. I had expected a few of the more adventuresome of our crew to go exploring here, but I did not expect that this place would suddenly turn half a dozen of them into Diary Junkies. Half of me is amused, the…
I have a new plan:Give test answers in Haiku.Bonus points for style?
To continue Friday’s analogy: The branch has fallen. The birds thus dislodged from the tree have flown off in search of other perches. My branch remains secure, with a better view of the sky. The better view of the sky means that the hawks circling above get a better look at me. In a continuing…
KiwiKimi. EdStun. Shay41. All old friends. All show up together on the top ten list. DD was in it’s prime, and many wonderful writers sheltered in the virtual haven here. So many electrons – cast off to new atoms or disappeared entirely. The diaspora of friends and talent has spread across the webscape, but the…
I had an asthma attack in my office this morning. It wasn’t as bad as some I’ve had, but when I reached into my briefcase for my inhaler IT WASN’T THERE! I was going to just try to wait it out, but I was online with the Professor at the time, and he ran my…
I used to have a friend who would go looking for baby birds every spring then raise them. She could never understand why they would get caught by a cat as soon as she released them. She finally figured it all out and just left them be!

baby bird time, kitten time, and the increase in road kill time. i love spring, and i hate spring at the same time.
The Picture of Dorian Gray, I haven’t seen that movie in so long it would be new to me.
I love old movies. I just rented ”The Quiet Man” (John Wayne, MaureenO’Hara)
”Leave Her to Heaven”
and ”Laura”
*munches popcorn*
VCR…great invention =)
My favorite part: I was wondering why there were other birds behind me, screaming at me too….
Oh I love that movie! I read the book too… very interesting moral to it. Enjoy! Oh and congrats on the apartment!
congratulations on the apartment, sal!! the bird story was oddly amusing. i remember poking a fat bird with a stick as a child because it wasn’t flying or reacting to our presence (though it was alive. seemed to just be chilling) i don’t remember it screaming, though. it might have been in the same situation.
There was a band back home called Dorion Gray.
I can’t remember if they were any good… I’m sure the movie is better! 🙂
I love how you know the name of plants! I need to buy gardening for dummies, if there is such a thing. I feel so inept when people start talking plants.

Nice house, looks spacious, big, whoooo!! I cant wait to get a place of my own. Now I know I’ll regret saying that when I do,lol!
Love,Alaina
Wow, look at all that room! The layout looks really nice. Our family of five went from 800 square feet to 1800 sq feet five years ago. It was great to stretch out, only problem was that we did not have enough furniture to spread out with us.
It’s gorgeous!! 😀
That looks like a big apartment!! You’re lucky :).
It is a beautiful thing. I don’t believe I could ever go back to communal laundry. It’s so much easier to toss it in and forget it in the dryer for a day or two….
Your own washer and dryer. One of life’s best luxuries!
