Part 1: Short Stories I’ve been going through my “library” of science fiction books, looking to reread old friends that I haven’t visited in too long a time. I’ve read Holdstock’s Mythago Wood, which was a more difficult and intricate read than I remembered. I’ve worked my way through LeGuin’s Earthsea books, and have just…
Wednesday I started the ultraviolet therapy. They’re taking me up really gradually, so the doses I got this week were really short. A few things I hadn’t actually thought about until we got started. One of them had to do with protective wear. Although I’m getting full body exposure, there’s a few areas that we…
I continue to feel overwhelmed. The little Prius isn’t helping. The check engine light came on today on the way to work. As a result I need to figure out a juggling routine that allows me to get my car looked at (state inspection and an oil change are due anyhow) and still allows me…
… I started to chronicle my life at this site. The entry was called New Beginnings. I’m not sure it was a new beginning. It was more like a fresh paragraph in an ongoing story. It’s taken me the better part of a year to realize that though. I didn’t start over again with a…
I have a dental appointment at 5:00 this afternoon (yuck) and was hoping to duck out a tad earlier than I need to for that so I can get some stuff signed at the doctor’s office. I’ve needed to get release forms signed there for three weeks now, but I can’t find the time to…
Twelve years ago Father’s day was Sunday, June 17th. I know because my father died on Father’s Day in 1990. He’d missed dying by heart attack in 1970. He missed dying by stroke in 1972. Both were diseases that were exacerbated, if not out-and-out caused, by smoking. Through it all, he peristed in smoking, to…
Be brave. be proud. Flaunt your efforts. What’s the worst that could happen, a snarky comment?
Oh Bravo! Oh, well done!
If you don’t get an A, the teacher is a dolt!
Write On!
That’s very good – and I really mean that. It explains the mysterious behaviour I’ve observed for years 🙂
I’m sure Katie has a good home, and will lord it over her new servants.
Oh, bravo! What a clever ending, with a twist I didn’t see coming!
We saw Shrek 2 Sunday night, as well, and laughed loudly and frequently. My favorite moment was the hairball scene. The way the artists drew that sudden lack of focus and the expression on the cat’s face was priceless.
I wondered if you’d have trouble giving up the kitten. I also wonder how Kimi will cope, after six weeks, was it? of cat sitting. I wonder if she’ll end up going out and getting another Abbyssinian.
I’m so glad the kitten has found a home! Even cooler you will be able to keep track of her.
As for the other entry, I love it! Very well done.
I forgot!! Thank you for dedicating it to Jinco. Ashley and I were looking at pictures of him last night. He is sorely missed.
Re your FOE: Well Done!! 🙂
Re finding kitten a good home: Well Done!! 🙂
Three stars for Salamander *** 😉
Now THAT story really rocks. Good work! 🙂
I thought of Dekyi this morning, and wondered how you were all getting along.
I really hope she becomes an important part of her new family.
I love your short story, and the dedication to Jinco touched me.
