JAVMA (The Journal of the American Veterinary Association) had a really cool pullout poster this issue. It’s the only time in the past ten years that I can recall them doing such a thing. The poster is a listing of “Disease from Potential Bioterrorist Agents”. I rather doubt these will be used as bioterrorist agents,…
Yesterday at work the nausea became so overwhelming that I had to leave early. That’s the first time I’ve had to leave work ill since all of this started, and I’m annoyed at myself for having ruined a perfect track record there. When I started doing my afternoon visits to the departments that I collect…
I had a busy (and expensive) weekend. Saturday I purchased a digital camera for my upcoming Oregon trip. It’s a Cannon G1, several steps up from Cannon’s digital Elph that I got the Professor for Christmas. I was hoping that if I stuck with Cannon I’d be able to use the same software packages with…
*ping* Comcast just increased my bill (again), so I was in a receptive mood last week when a Verizon representative came knocking on my door. More services, ten dollars less a month, and customer service completely based in the US (the Prof and I have literally spent a cumulative total of a dozen days of…
It’s been a hard week for The Prof. We’ve lost cats before, but sometimes there’s a once-in-a-lifetime bond that forms between a two living beings that is both inexplicable and undeniable. That was Middy and The Prof. He currently marks the time elapsed from Easter evening, when we gave Midnight her release from suffering, by…
No, the heater in my office is still not working. The temperature when I walked in this morning was 31°F(-1°C). We’re up to 48°F (9°C) right now, thanks to Mr. Sun, but there’s no sign of getting any artificial assistance to the all-natural BTU’s we’re getting at the moment. I have a space heater sitting…
Be brave. be proud. Flaunt your efforts. What’s the worst that could happen, a snarky comment?
Oh Bravo! Oh, well done!
If you don’t get an A, the teacher is a dolt!
Write On!
That’s very good – and I really mean that. It explains the mysterious behaviour I’ve observed for years 🙂
I’m sure Katie has a good home, and will lord it over her new servants.
Oh, bravo! What a clever ending, with a twist I didn’t see coming!
We saw Shrek 2 Sunday night, as well, and laughed loudly and frequently. My favorite moment was the hairball scene. The way the artists drew that sudden lack of focus and the expression on the cat’s face was priceless.
I wondered if you’d have trouble giving up the kitten. I also wonder how Kimi will cope, after six weeks, was it? of cat sitting. I wonder if she’ll end up going out and getting another Abbyssinian.
I’m so glad the kitten has found a home! Even cooler you will be able to keep track of her.
As for the other entry, I love it! Very well done.
I forgot!! Thank you for dedicating it to Jinco. Ashley and I were looking at pictures of him last night. He is sorely missed.
Re your FOE: Well Done!! 🙂
Re finding kitten a good home: Well Done!! 🙂
Three stars for Salamander *** 😉
Now THAT story really rocks. Good work! 🙂
I thought of Dekyi this morning, and wondered how you were all getting along.
I really hope she becomes an important part of her new family.
I love your short story, and the dedication to Jinco touched me.
